Yarns: Handspun from your fiber or ours.
I will hand spin the fiber of your choice into a unique yarn suitable for
handknitting, crocheting, weaving, rug hooking, or what ever you choose. Dog hair from a beloved pet makes an especially beautiful
and warm yarn. Many breeds have fiber ideal for spinning, especially Great Pyrenees, Newfoundland, Samoyed, American Eskimo, Siberian Husky,
Malamute, Sheltie, and Collie, to give a few examples. Now you can do something with all that soft fur left after you brush
your dog. People all over the world have used dog hair yarn for
centuries in clothing, blankets, rugs and fiber art.

Dog hair fiber is sometimes
called 'chiengora'. (from the French 'chien' meaning dog, and 'gora' meaning extremely-warm-hair.
Or something like that.) Dog hair yarn does not have a dog odor, it doesn't shed*, and it is very warm. It's great
for making hats, mittens, and scarves, or adding a unique accent to any handmade project. *OK, it sheds
like a cheap angora sweater a little.
Prices for finished
yarn start at $9.00 per ounce for a two-ply yarn. It's a little extra for dyeing, blending with other fibers, very fine
or very bulky yarns, etc. Please email with specific questions: mailto:yarn@lefthandllamas.com Or send me some of your fiber, and I'll spin a sample of yarn for you at no charge.
